The Five Prayer Burdens of the Citywide Prayer Movement KC

The purpose and mission of the CPM is Serving a Company of Thirsty Hearts. We have identified 5 specific areas of prayer and desire to be faithful over the long haul of our next season to pray for these burdens. These specific prayers represent our desire to take responsibility as a KC leadership community for the brokenness and ruins of our city and region. These prayer burdens also reflect a general sense of direction for each of us personally as individuals who are thirsty for more of Gods presence and for our families and churches. People occasionally ask me, What can I do to serve what God is doing in the citywide prayer movement. Responding to these prayer burdens is part of the answer to that question. Here are the 5 Prayer Burdens:

1. Revival in Individual Believers
2. Revival in Families, Marriages and Youth
3. Revival in Pastors and Leaders
4. Revival in Churches
5. Revival, Awakening and Transformation of the KC Region
   

Burden #1: Every Christian believer knows at the deepest level of their inner being where they are in their intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ, personal obedience to the Word of God, holiness and purity, and the use of their gifts and abilities in witness and service. You know your heart and I know mine. We are asking everyone connected to the CPM to do a personal inventory in each of these 4 areas of Walking with Jesus and press into the next level. Ask the Holy Spirit for a revival in your personal life. 1 Thessalonians 1:9 is a key to every prayer burden... The Holy Spirit came in power and in full conviction... Repentance and obedience are always a key to revival. If everyone connected to CPM would pursue personal revival and deeper intimacy with Jesus we will have a breakout of everyone hearing the voice of Jesus, obeying Him and experiencing transformation!!! How wonderful would that be?

Burden #2: REAL Christianity gets worked out most powerfully in our homes, families and marriages. Just think if all connected to CPM would press in passionately to restore any brokenness in their homes and relationships! Ask the Holy Spirit to do a House Cleaning! O Lord, restore the brokenness of our homes in the KC region.

Burden #3: If you are a pastor, only you know where you really are in your personal intimate walk with Jesus, in obedience to His Word, in holiness and purity, and in the use of your gifts and abilities in witness and service. We are encouraging pastors to pursue both points above. Also, what can you do personally to build trust and loving friendship with other pastors and leaders in your circle of influence? What would happen in the KC region if 500 pastors came together in covenant friendship and in persistent desperate prayer for a revival in the church in KC? Would God hear that prayer and answer? I think He would! Please come out of isolation and resignation and join in changing the spiritual atmosphere of our region. Lets break out of the status quo (the way we are currently doing church is having minimal impact!) Lets link arms in unity and cry out to God together. I am desperately looking for Covenant Friendship among the pastors in our community.

Burden #4: When the Church enters into a season of revival and restored intimacy with Jesus we will become an unstoppable force for good in our region. Believers will be motivated by Jesus Himself to get outside the walls of churches to become the salt and light of the world. I believe the Church of Jesus Christ is the hope of glory, the beautiful bride of Christ, and the most transcendent cause on planet Earth to be involved in

Burden #5: The KC Region: We are asking God for an open heaven over Kansas City. We are asking God to saturate the atmosphere in KC with the presence of God, the power of Jesus and the full conviction of the Holy Spirit. We are desperate for a revival and spiritual awakening to move on the hearts of shallow Christians and broken unbelievers and draw them to Jesus. We are longing for every strata of our society to be impacted and transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. This is the dream of the CPM.

Revival in Individual Believers

• Repentance, cleansing and purity (1 Thess 1:5)
• Release for deeper intimacy with Jesus
• Renewed hunger for the Word and prayer
• Opening of spiritual eyes to see an eternal perspective
• Release of gifts and abilities to serve in compassion

Revival in Families, Marriages & Youth

• Repentance, cleansing and purity (1 Thess 1:5)
• Healing for broken marriages
• Hearts of fathers to turn to children
• Healing of family relationships
• A move of the Spirit among children and youth

Revival in Pastors & Leaders

• Repentance, cleansing and purity (1 Thess 1:5)
• Release into deeper intimacy with Jesus
• Freedom from isolation, compromise, resignation
• Renewed hope for revival and visitation of God
• Restore Unity and friendship across KC

Revival in Churches

• Corporate repentance, cleansing & purity (1 Thess 1:5)
• Restored identity as the bride of Christ
• Awakening from slumber and unbelief
• Outpouring of the Spirit of Prayer
• Unprecedented unity and cooperation

Revival, Awakening & Transformation of the KC Region

• Corporate repentance, cleansing & purity (1 Thess 1:5)
• An open heaven over all of KC (Gods presence saturation)
• The lost and broken streaming in the kingdom
• Healing, Miracles and Deliverance from evil
• Revival and Transformation in every sphere!!!
